When do we get to see the cover art?

  2. Ellen Says:

Not a clue. I have even seen all of the final art–although the theme of Great Paintings continues; somewhat hilariously so. (in a good way)

  3. Rosemary Says:

Excellent! I ordered mine just now. It’s going to be fun to read the new versions and try to spot the updates.

Yo! Most excellent! When my copies arrive, I plan on burning my Hawk copies! (Haven’t done so yet as I feared not having back up copies to my originals. Seemed like it would be tempting fate to have only ONE copy of each book.)

  5. Holly B Says:

Wicked awesome! I only have one copy of each, so this will be a fantastic companion set.

As the OCD nut that I am, I am so excited that I will have a matching set. However, I think I would miss the references to Tab and all the 80’s gems that seem to define Meg for me. I will be keeping my older copies as well. Congrats, Ellen!

And, hey, they will be Fine Collector’s Items!

I saw the galley of The President’s Daughter today, but have not had time to proof-read it yet. I _think_ it’s better, but it’s hard to know. It’s the same book–only one new scene, since the Plaza Hotel is no more, and I had to move them to the Waldorf–but, I think it’s both smoother, and sharper, in many ways.

As a long-time fan I am thrilled to get new copies of the President’s Daughter series. I knew that they were being reissued, but I didn’t realize until I read this thread (I just discovered this blog) that there will be changes made. It will be interesting to read them with changes. I’ve been rereading these books for years so I’m very curious!

On a different note, I have to say that I discovered this series at the age of eleven in 1989 when Long Live the Queen was published. I found that book, wanted to read it, and found out it was third in a series. I refuse to read books out of order so I found the first two, read the series in the order they were written, and fell in love with the books. I have reread them so many times over the years that I have three different sets of the books because mine kept falling apart.

I find them laugh out loud funny, touching, and simply beautiful. When I found out you had written a fourth book I screamed, and then called everyone I knew to tell them how excited I was. I had long-since given up any hope of getting any more books in this series, and this was a terrific surprise for me. I bought the newest book the day it was published and it didn’t disappoint - I adore it.

I now teach 8th grade English, and I’m so glad that I’m going to be able to recommend these books to a new generation of readers. Thank you so much for continuing Meg’s story. I’ve read more books than I can begin to count, and these stand at the top of my favorites list.

I can’t wait for the first three books to be reissued.

I’m now reading Long May She Reign for the third time. I cried pretty much the whole way through the first reading. It is great to catch up with Meg again. She is a character that stuck with me for years and year.

I know I am a bit behind here but the new covers are most excellent. I can’t wait to have the re-issues on my bookshelves with my 1980’s original copies of the three books. Yes, I am quiet and bookish.
